Abstract
This paperreportsthephotoluminescenceandafterglowofSr2SiO4 doped withEu2þ and Dy3þ. Factors
governingtheformationofthemonoclinicororthorhombicphaseofthisortho-silicatearedescribed
and theimpactofthecrystallographicmodificationontheluminescenceandafterglowunderUVand
VUV excitationarediscussedandinsightinfactorslimitingtheefficiencyofthisyellowafterglow
materialisgiven.
