Abstract

The first of our new series on data and surveillance! Rosa Wevers is a PhD candidate in Gender Studies at Utrecht University who researches how contemporary art exhibitions confront visitors with critical perspectives on surveillance and engage them in strategies of resistance. We talk about the underlying racisms, sexisms, and ablisms of biometrics and surveillance technologies, and confront the paradox of visibility and invisibility that surrounds them.
