Abstract
This paper tries to provide a new perspective on using scientific methodology in
social sciences on the example of psychology. The paper proposes a new concept
called the escape to methodology, which is defined as a strong methodological
orientation of psychologists. Its implications and consequences on current
development of psychology and education of future scientists are being analyzed.
Feyerabend’s epistemological anarchism is considered as an alternative to the
escape to methodology in psychology, being a possible criticism that will put it
into perspective and move the whole discipline towards further development and
advancement
