Abstract

The concept of translocal development aims to secure a better grasp of the nexus between globalization and development. Rather than analysing processes of globalisation in terms of hybridity and deterritorialisation, it stresses the importance of looking at (new) linkages emerging between local places. It doesn’t consider them as mere bounded recipients and end points of development efforts but rather as nodes in spatial development networks and temporal development processes.
