Abstract

This chapter deals with the general provisions on information about the pension scheme that IORPs must, under Articles 36 and 37, provide to their members. Member States must ensure that every IORP registered in their territory provides clear and regularly updated information to prospective members, members and beneficiaries written in clear, succinct and comprehensible language, free of charge and by electronic or paper means. Member States must also ensure that each IORP provides sufficient information to members and beneficiaries about the relevant pension scheme, including the IORP’s name, investment profile, financial risks, guarantees, benefit reduction mechanisms, costs, retirement options and transfer arrangements. IORPs must also inform members of investment options and changes to pension scheme rules.
