The self critical doctor: Helping students become more reflective

Abstract

Students do not adopt reflective learning habits spontaneously, so teachers must help them. In this article we suggest how to teach reflective learning, that is, how to foster reflective skills. The teaching methods arebasedonpublishedstudies, the recommen-dations of leading medical educators, and experience from training clinical teachers, students, and junior doctors internationally.
