Abstract

Science courses are one of the courses that project based education could be applied succesfully. Students are expected to impliment their knowledge that they had during the science and technology courses to understand the nature and be able to practice scientific process skills on the daily based problems. In this study, students followed the steps of scientific process skills under the supervison of their mentor teacher. They participated in “This is my product: Mathematics and Science Project Work”, joint project of National Education Ministry (MEB) and TUBİTAK. Students decided their project thema as bread mold. During the project, students searched the answer for the question “How we can delay the mold reproduction on the bread?”, form their hypothesis, make their observations, experiments, analyze the outcomes, find the solution and the stages that they should cover in the frame of their study were explained in this paper. Afterwards students were evaluated to participate in Eskişehir regional exhibition and presented their project. At the end of this process, students introduce their product, with their presentation. They followed different presentation and enjoyed the different aspects of science outside their classrooms and developed their presentation skills.
