Abstract

This study translated, adapted, and validated the Student Career Construction Inventory (SCCI) for Brazilian students, focusing on its internal structure. A total of 325 students (73.7% female, 67.4% college students) aged 18–58 years participated. Confirmatory factor analyses supported a four-dimensional structure with a second-order factor. Item Response Theory (IRT) analyses showed that 15 items had high discrimination parameters (1.49–4.73), while items 4, 5, and 18 had moderate discrimination. Difficulty parameters ranged from − 0.60 to 0.30. Overall, the scale demonstrated partially adequate psychometric properties for use in Brazil.
