Abstract

Performance of photovoltaic (PV) systems in the Netherlands, in terms of specific yield, has often been estimated at 850 kWh/kWp. In this paper, monitoring data from 2011 and 2012 for 500+ systems were analyzed to show the validity of this estimate. For 2012, for this set of systems, the specific yield is found to be 876 kWh/kWp with a standard deviation of 139 kWh/kWp, due to variations in tilt and azimuth. Regional variation of specific yield is correlated to variation of yearly irradiation sums and a difference in 2012 yield is observed of ± 9%.
