Abstract

The three authors describe Braidotti's role in establishing ATHENA and other networks for women's and gender studies in Europe, in building the gender studies program at Utrecht University, and in organizing the European Feminist Research Conference in Bologna in 2000. They use personal memories and Braidotti’s concepts of metamorphoses, materialism, and becoming to analyse shared turning points in professional and personal relationships that were also a form of political practice and intellectual creativity.
