Abstract
Resilience scholarship continues to inspire opaque discourse and competing frameworks often
inconsistent with the complexity inherent in social–ecological systems. We contend that
competing conceptualizations of resilience are reconcilable, and that the core theory is useful for
navigating sustainability challenges.
