Abstract
This paper presents an update to the requirements for the useful application of ABM in policy processes. For this update, the requirements from 2018 have been refined based on new experiences, knowledge, and insights. These were gained through the continuation of an observational case-study at the Dutch government, two case-studies and discussions with policy process experts. The paper also introduces transitions as a type of policy issue for which ABM is particularly useful.
