Abstract

In this chapter we will introduce the density matrix, show how it can be expressed as product operators, and present their matrix representation. It will be shown how these product operators evolve in time or be transformed by radio-frequency pulses. The use of product operators is illustrated by describing 1D and 2D NMR experiments.
