Abstract

Ambiguous images are images that have multiple plausible perceptual interpretations. A human observer viewing an ambiguous image may perceive alternate interpretations in turn. One factor that affects perception of ambiguous images is prior exposure to identical or similar visual input. This thesis reports investigations into the influence of prior visual experience and perception on perception of ambiguous images.
