Abstract
Radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure of a two-tissue model of a Calliphora vomitoria L. in the pupal stage is simulated at 1.8,3.5,15.7, and 26 GHz. The model is dielectrically characterized through a combination of measurements and parametric models. It is shown that absorption in both cocoon (puparium) and contained pupa increases with frequency until 15.7 GHz and then declines at 26 GHz. At these frequencies, the absorption in the pupa is higher for exposure configurations that have their electric field directed along the pupa's longest axis in comparison to orthogonally polarized fields.
