Abstract
“Myth textuality” reconsiders myth criticism as introduced by Gilbert Durand in connection with Kristeva’s intertextuality. Both theorists coincide in seeing narration as a survival strategy, detecting recurrent textual elements and considering a subjacent textual layer. The complementarity of their theo- ries lies in Durand’s interest in the existential questions of the human being, represented in myth, versus Kristeva’s pondering on the textual reflection of the individuation process.
