Abstract

In this keynote I present some bits and pieces of the ETHOS Reserach programme on Justice and Vulnerability with the aim to reflect on how social policy scholars might benefit from the results of that programme. The leading question is: what does the conceptualization of justice and vulnerability potentially contribute to social policy and social policy research. The presentation exists in 6 parts:
Why reflecting on justice in social policy (research)?
Justice and Vulnerability in relevant academic disciplines
Justice and vulnerability; a theoretical approach
Redistribution; welfare benefits/social assistance
Recognition; (minority) categorization
