Abstract

This introductory chapter presents the theoretical set-up, the process and the contents of the Handbook. It lays down the main features of the pluralistic approach of 'Causal Mosaic' and explains how this approach has been used to structure the Handbook, going beyond disciplinary boundaries and formulating questions about causality across fields. The editors have adopted an 'inclusive editing' approach, according to which space is given to unusual or unconventional voices, and interactions among authors are facilitated through a 'crowd sourced peer review process'. The introduction explains the structure of the Handbook, providing introductions for each section and for each chapter, thus showing how such a diverse production hangs together.
