Abstract
Dutch Muslims are recurrently not succeeding in finding a place in Dutch society to practice their religion according to their taste. As a result, they embark on a search to 'just be a Muslim.' Nina ter Laan and Merel Kahmann discuss how Morocco plays a role in this search of Dutch Muslims to find a place where they feel accepted and free to practice their religion.
