Abstract
Some historic scientific instruments, ranging from the end of the 17th century to early 18th century, from the collection of the University Museum Utrecht are described. These are a pyrometer by Pieter van Musschgenbroek, a vacuum pump by Johan van Musschenbroek, two lensen made by Christiaan Huygens, one is the lens Admovere, a Van Leeuwenhoek microscope, a model of a lock, a binocular telescope by Hemsterhuis and Dollond , two tertiën watches by Pfaffius, a model of a crane constructed by Padmore, a model of a pile driver designed by James Valoué, a model of a Ducht hoisting beam, a 'frictionless pump' by De Linière, a model of a lock and a Rupert's cube.
