Abstract
The distribution of the two Sciomyza species (Sciomyzidae) in The Netherlands is discussed. Sciomyza simplex is present all over the country, with most specimens in the western parts, including the dunes. About 50 specimens are known; the main flight period is from May till August. Sciomyza testacea was only recorded in 1919; 6 recent specimens can be added, to prove that the species is native in The Netherlands.
