Green marketing for hydropower

Abstract

The current green electricity markets in Europe was analyzed and the conditions for hydropower to be positioned successfully as an environmentally preferable product were identified. With on-going market liberalization, green electricity markets are developing throughout Europe and create an opportunity to market environmentally sound electricity as a high quality product. Green power offerings are expected to become more and more convenient and to have a competitive price while covering the entirety of customers' electricity demand. Because of its low costs and its high availability, hydropower is very well suited for integration into green electricity products.
