Abstract

In this article I argue that literary studies is lagging behind when it comes to research funding from the national granting organisation NWO. Compared to other disciplines (especially compared to linguistics, history, archeology, philosophy) literary studies a.o. do not have a research agenda, are not well organised and the scholars overcritize each other in public too much.
