Abstract

This collection is an introduction to new research in the field of European gender studies. Grouped in three sections, 'Gender and Citizenship', 'Gender and Science' and 'Gender and Representation', the articles in this volume show that citizenship is never only a legal status: it has to do wit cultural diversity, with recognition of difference, with hierarchies on the labour market and visual representations in polictics, the social and science.
