Abstract
Discusses the history of the so-called 'Capanno di Garibaldi' (Garibaldi's Cabin) in the outskirts of Ravenna as a cultural icon of European Romanticism from below, being a monument to radical political opposition cultivated not by authorities or institutions but by those supporting the revolutionary cause advocated by Giuseppe Garibaldi.
