Abstract

In the domains of finance and health, there is a long standing research tradition into financial literacy and health literacy with three different perspectives. In the first perspective, the main question is about demographic factors related with both types of literacy. The second perspective is focused on the question whether education might help to make better decisions. And in the third perspective the effects are analyzed of different aspects of both types of literacy on taking decisions. In this talk I will discuss the concept of functional literacy related with domain literacy (finance, health, food) and present some results of our own studies into the domains of finance and health (medication).
