Abstract
The Black Dutch have been historically contained in their bodily enclaves. 2013 saw, nevertheless, the eruption of the occluded ‘question of racism’ in the Dutch public sphere. This paper will point out to the outstanding features of racism in the Netherlands, glimpse at the recent debate on Zwarte Piet, and analyse how it was framed. My aim is to reveal the working of systems of discipline of racialised bodies inherited from the Dutch empire, in the contemporary public debate.
