Abstract
This chapter discusses four strands of Latin American ecological thought that we consider to be at the heart of the region’s contribution for a global ecopolitical action. The main conceptual frames and political tactics deployed by the eco-theology of liberation; the discussion around territory, autonomy and nature; popular ecologisms; and Latin American eco-feminisms are briefly reviewed. In particular, we highlight and celebrate the theoretical contributions and emancipatory practices that popular, peasant, feminist, Indigenous, and Afro-descendant organizations have developed to challenge ecological destruction on a planetary scale.
