Research output: ThesisDoctoral thesis 1 (Research UU / Graduation UU)

Abstract

This thesis is concerned with the dynamics of fine structure of the solar chromosphere and transition region, in both quiet sun and active regions. It contains six chapters of observational studies. It presents a study on the spatial structure and temporal dynamics of reversed granulation; a study on the patterning of magnetic fields in internetwork areas in the photosphere and chromosphere; a study on oscillations in the chromosphere and transition region; a study on the appearance of dynamic fibrils in the chromosphere and transition region; and a study on the relation of the high photosphere to the transition region.
