Abstract

The electron paramagnetic resonance signal of an exchange-coupled pairconsisting of a shallow interstitial Li donor and a deep Na-relatedacceptor has been identified in ZnO nanocrystals with radii smallerthan 1.5nm . From electron nuclear double resonance experiments it isconcluded that the deep Na-related acceptor is located at the interfaceof the ZnO core and the Zn(OH)2 capping layer, while theLi donor is in the ZnO core.
