Detection of scalar 6Li,15N coupling across coordinative Li-N bonds

Abstract

With natural abundance of 15N in the sample, scalar 6Li, 15N spin- spin couplings across coordinative Li-N bonds were detected for the tetrameric organolithium compound 1 in solution and in the solid state. The coupling constants of 3.6 and 4.2 Hz correlate with the Li-N distances determined in the crystal structure analysis.
