Abstract
Manyinfectiousdiseaseslackcheap, fast,andreliableserodiagnostictools. Recently, glycanscoupledtogoldnanoparticles(GNPs)haveshownpotentialtofillthisvoidby utilizingthemasacoatinginELISAexperiments. Inthisstudy,weusedGNPsfunctionalizedeitherwithgalactofuranose(Galf), rhamnose(Rhap)oramixtureof these monosaccharidestodetectthepresenceofIgMandIgGantibodiesagainstthesenonhumancarbohydratesinseraobtainedfromtuberculosispatientsandcontrolgroups. Ourfindingsconfirmthewideabundanceofanti-Rhapantibodiesinhumansandshow forthefirsttimethepresenceofanti-Galf antibodiesinhumansera.ThisstudysupportsfurtherinvestigationofusingGNP-ELISAwithmicrobe-specificcarbohydratesfor serodiagnosisofinfectiousdiseases.
