Abstract
The literary text still is in focus in recent Dutch literary scholarship. Most of the contributions to three (digital or digitalized) academic magazines scrutinize texts, and they do so not only for the (interpretation of) the text’s sake; the text often is the departing platform for investigations in literary theory, history, knowledge, criticism, reviewing and the like. Old school single minded close reading is out of date. Most of these investigations tend to rely on the interpretative activities of one single reader, who often appears to be akin to the scholar him- or herself but who nevertheless is presupposed to represent the entire interpretive community (of colleagues).
