Abstract

Als groots voorbeeld van stormvloedramp en landverlies wordt de St. Elisabethsvloed in Nederland graag aangehaald en opgevoerd, om het even in welke context precies. Men heeft het er immers al eeuwen over, dus het is een historisch onderwerp, dus altijd goed. Hé, en dit jaar is het ook nog eens precies 600 jaar geleden dat ze plaats vond! Wat vinden we er nu eigenlijk bijzonder aan? Kim Cohen en Maarten Kleinhans (Universiteit Utrecht, Dept. Fysische Geografie) vullen elkaar aan.
