Abstract
The map collection of the University of Utrecht contains 45 different versions of the so called ‘Marmontkaart’ (the ‘Marmont Map’). What kind of map are we dealing with? Which other maps were made of General Marmont’s military encampment near Utrecht? This article leads us through the historical cartography with regard to the different maps of the Camp near Utrecht during the French domination of the Netherlands in the early 19th century
