Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterAcademicpeer-review

Abstract

This concluding chapter synthesizes the main findings of the volume, summarizing and highlighting the connections between its chapters. On this basis, we offer an initial explanation for the persistence of scholarly vices over time, in part by pointing out the various functions of vice language. Finally, we outline directions for future research on scholarly vices in historical vice epistemology as part of a long-term and global history of knowledge.
