Abstract

The potential impact of practice-oriented educational research on educational practice is considered high due to grounding in school settings and teacher involvement. It can be expected that practice-oriented research also has impact on educational research. However, there is no considerable empirical evidence to support these notions. Studying impact of practice-oriented educational research is complex due to lack of clarity on the nature of impact. The aim of this study is to conceptualize the nature of impact of practice-oriented educational research on educational research and practice in terms of scope, degree and sustainability. A multi-grounded conceptual framework of the nature of impact is presented at the conference. This roundtable discussion will focus on clarity, consistency and completeness of the conceptual framework. The results of the study contribute to setting up recommendations for future practice-oriented educational research projects to achieve desired impact on educational research and practice.
