    Abstract

Laparoscopy is becoming increasingly popular in veterinary medicine
for performing investigative and surgical procedures in small animals.
Cats have a flexible abdominal wall that allows sufficient distention
for laparoscopic procedures at relatively low intra-abdominal pressures.
The advantages, disadvantages and indications for laparoscopy
in cats will be discussed in this chapter.
