Abstract

In 2014, a board member of a primary school in a large city in the Netherlands approached the consultants with the specific question to evaluate the primary school in question, which welcomes newly arrived migrant pupils. The board’s main goal was to obtain reliable information about the situation to guide policymakers of the school in finding solutions to existing problems and stimulate the education of this vulnerable group of pupils. The report had to provide an assessment of the current policy with recommendations for the future and provide insight into the concerns expressed by the school board.
