Abstract

An investigation is described into the effects on the respiratory system of exposure to sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, ozone and acid aerosols during air pollution episodes. The study is carried out in three populations (schoolchildren, adults, and exercising adults) in different areas of the country. Objectives of the study are a.o. to establish what components of temporarily elevated air pollution level are responsible for any observed health effect, and to identify responders or "risk groups'. -Authors
