Abstract
Background. We present a new theoretical model for word-finding difficulties in aphasic patients. We show how: (1) lexical complexity can be measured using the notion of entorpy; (2) the higher the entropy the more resources are needed to process it; and (3) lack of resources results in failure to access lexical items (inability to handle higher entropy values).
