(Co)applicant of a 22 million euro grant to set up the The Soehngen Institute of Anaerobic Microbiology (SIAM). SIAM is a challenging research program, established by the Radboud University, Wageningen University, Technical University Delft, and the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ). Its research program focuses on anaerobic microbiology. It unites experts in the fields of health, environment and biotechnology in order to share knowledge and discover new microorganisms and processes. Training and education of young researchers and the next generation of scientists is an important task of the SIAM program. In addition, we collaborate with companies and institutes to develop sustainable applications deriving from our research.
