Best student paper award (SSH/LAW/PE/EDU)

Prize: Prize (including medals and awards)

Description

Maranke was awarded a 'Best student paper award' for her paper titled: 'What to account for when accounting for algorithms: A systematic literature review on algorithmic accountability'. In her systematic literature review, Maranke analyzes what 'algorithmic accountability' is, and what - according to that literature - should be accounted for in such accountability practices. By using traditional accountability theories from governance studies, she identifies what is new in algorithmic accountability, and puts forth a concrete definition of this phenomenon.
