The importance of Intercultural communication

    Press/Media: Public Engagement Activities

    Description

I hosted a one hour show exploring what intercultural communication means in practice. I interviewed Dr Leticia Yulita and 6 of our students from the School of Politics, Philosophy Language and Communication Studies at the University of East Anglia. They have been taught how interpersonal communication is inseparable from language and culture but also how language is used both to represent and create speakers’ expectations, beliefs, attitudes, practices and moral values about the world. The students tell us about their experiences of taking part in the “Global Social Storm” competition and the “Athena Swan” committee for gender discrimination in the workplace in the module and choose some fine tunes too! I host the show recorded at Future Radio, Norwich. Here's the link to the podcast
