Dear Members of the ISEE Europe Chapter,
The elections to the executive council of the Europe Chapter have finished and we are happy to announce that we can welcome Ulrike Gehring and Danielle Vienneau as new members of the council. Many thanks to everybody who supported the Chapter by casting a vote. Altogether, we had 106 ballots, which is a response of 47%.
Many thanks also to the other two candidates who stood for election. The outcome of the election was very tight, which shows that we obviously had a very strong field of candidates. A warm thank you to candidates Simon Birkett and Fabrizio Bianchi, who supported the executive council during the first two years of its existence and gave very valuable input. We hope to continue to work with our "ex-councilors" and make use of their experience through our subcommittees.
We are now looking forward to the next year of activities, which will start with the Young and Early Career Researchers Conference in Barcelona, 20-21 October. As you might already know, we had more than 200 abstracts and have now compiled a very attractive program of keynote speeches, oral and poster presentations and ample time for discussion. The program will soon be available on the conference web site. We hope to be able to welcome many of you in Barcelona next month.
Best wishes,
