Description
Experts from academia and non-governmental organisations are brought together to present and discuss the various prevailing animal monitoring techniques. Monitoring of biodiversity trends is essential for determining impacts of government policies related to sustainability, industrial best management practices and conservation efforts. Exiting new techniques that are being developed and tested together with proven methods to monitor biodiversity will be presented and discussed to improve our understanding, facilitate uptake and stimulate debate about the benefits and challenges of the various methods.
To create a lively and well specified dialogue, the seminar focuses on mammal monitoring in the Congo Basin. The discussed methods however are not confined to a particular ecosystem or geographical region, and anyone that shares an interest in animal monitoring is very much encouraged to attend.
