I joined Panel 4: Empire and Knowledge, presenting my paper on how Maria Sibylla Merian and her daughters copied illustrations from the 'Herbarium Capense' florilegium, exploring how a Surinamese butterfly ended up fluttering among flowers from the Cape of Good Hope.
