Working conference on brainhacking and brainjacking On 4 October, a working conference will be held on the theme 'Hersenvredebreuk' (concerning brainhacking and brainjacking). The central question is whether intelligence and security services will be able to penetrate and manipulate the brains of citizens (brain hacking and brainjacking) in the near future via brain extensions (brain computer interfaces, brain wearables, etc.). This question is relevant in the context of the evaluation of the Intelligence and Security Services Act (Wet op de inlichtingen- en veiligheidsdiensten), which is scheduled for spring 2020. The working conference is organised by the Centre for the Humanities and the Utrecht University Centre for Global Challenges (both Utrecht University), and is specifically intended for representatives of politics, the intelligence and security services, their supervision, the judiciary and journalism.
